Counseling can provide support, coping and problem-solving skills, and lead to a better understanding of yourself. What makes talking to a counselor different then a friend, is that counselors use tested and proven methods and interventions. Not all counselors work using the same theories and methods. Be sure to check out the specialties section to see if my education and training resonates with you.

In counseling you should feel comfortable to share your thoughts and feelings. In counseling you may be asked to try new behaviors, and I may give you tasks to complete between sessions. It is the work you do outside of your sessions that will really help you see your personal growth and development in action. Through counseling, you will learn tools to optimize your inherent strengths, and become the best
version of yourself.

The first session is about gathering history and getting to know one another to determine if you and your therapist are a good fit. The best determination of success in counseling isn’t necessarily the therapist’s skills, but the trusting relationship
you have with your counselor.

Sessions typically last 50 minutes, although 80 minute sessions are available too. How often you meet is a decision that you and your counselor agree upon together, based on
your time, your schedule, and your individual needs. Typically most clients start at 1x/week in the beginning, then move to whatever pace feels good for them after some period of time.

My business hours are by appointment only from 8:30am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday, limited Wednesday evenings available.

Rates per fifty minute session are $100. I do not accept insurance, although some clients are able to submit receipts for reimbursement under their out of network mental health benefits. Please see the insurance page for more detailed information.
