About

A Little About Me

I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling in 2008 from Webster University. In 2013 I went on to complete all requirements to be a licensed marriage and family therapist (MT2790) by the state of Florida. I have since used that education to primarily support a diverse population of individuals touched by trauma and loss. My clinical job titles have been a Forensic Counselor, Behavioral Health Overlay Services Clinician, Clinical Engagement Specialist, Lead Clinical Specialist, Clinical Director and Bereavement Counselor. Prior to that, in 2002 I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Child Study in both General (Pre-K-6th) and Special Education (ages 0-21). With that teaching I worked predominantly with students diagnosed with Autism in a private educational setting.

I seek to teach others how to be warriors of Tranquility. My professional background in both teaching and mental health gives me a unique and effective approach to sharing self care with others. I believe in the mind/body connection and incorporate a holistic approach. I hold a personal love and gratitude for the wisdom of mindfulness and I love to share with others concrete ways to incorporate the practice into daily life. I believe we can all find a little more balance with every breath we take.

Life is a journey and certainly has its ups and downs. In 2002 I suffered the loss of my mother after her courageous battle with breast cancer. I received hospice group support on that grief journey and was able to finish college that year and even write a thesis amidst all the many hard times. I decided to go back to school for my Master’s in Counseling to help others as it helped me learn to live again even knowing such heartache. In 2010 after the traumatic loss of my brother I had to learn to walk again in a world that felt so very unsafe. In 2022 my heart broke as I suffered the loss of my youngest brother. Once again I learned to walk with that grief and suffering. Each time I set out on a healing journey to learn to live with loss and find joy again. Walking and Talking was a big part of that grief work. I am forever grateful for all my many helpers along that path.

My mission is that individuals don’t stay stuck solely in the suffering chapter of life. Life has its dark times and I can offer a flashlight as you walk again towards more light. I am a cheerleader of hope and truly believe that you can live your life fully even amongst the turmoil it can bring at times. I would be honored to sit beside you and allow you to do your natural healing process. I will collaborate with you and offer tools along the way to help cultivate healing and personal growth.

I look forward to walking (figuratively or literally) alongside you.

I moved to Florida in 2004 and started classes towards my Masters degree in Counseling. I am originally from Long Island NY and love to be around water. My husband and I are blessed with two amazing kids and we have a loving Boxer named Zoey. I treasure time with family and friends. I enjoy nature, yoga, taking photographs, mindfulness meditation and walking.

I believe a counseling space should be a sanctuary and create comfort and
peace. You’ll find my office filled with natural light, gently fragranced with
essential oils, a rock fountain, and soft comforts like a fuzzy blanket, natural
plants and warm tea (just bring your mug). Here are a few photos of the
office.
